Harvest Appeal during September


There will be a collecting jar in the church on each Sunday of the month and this will be offered at the Harvest Festival Service at the beginning of October

It s hoped this money will go towards helping a hospital in Africa. Our link parish of Bad Berneck in Bayreuth supports a Lutheran hospital in Tanzania and has pledged financial help to provide clean water. The surrounding area is very dry and there is a constant search for fresh sources of water.

A spring has been located but the water has to be fetched by helpers using buckets.

THEY NEED TO PIPE THE CLEAN WATER TO THE HOSPITAL
But
CANNOT AFFORD TO DO SO.


This hospital has 80 beds but there are often two patients to a bed. I think that you will agree that it is a worthy cause and it will be good to share this mission work with our link parish of Bad Berneck.

Because the hospital is run by the Lutheran Church, all the gifted money and medication, which Bayreuth sends out regularly goes direct to the hospital through existing channels so none is syphoned off on the way

Dear God,

So far today I've done alright - I haven't gossiped or lost my temper:
I haven't been greedy or grumpy or nasty or selfish
or over-indulgent' and I'm 'thankful for that.
But Lord, in a few minutes I'm going to get out of bed
and from there on I'm probably going to need a lot more help.

Mothers' and Toddlers Group


 

The Mother & Toddler Group
meets on Tuesdays 9 -11 am
in St Nicholas' church.
New mums and toddlers are welcome.
We could do with more helpers on a rota basis
so if there is anyone willing to spend two hours occasionally
